Parents & Family Weekend

Young Rattler with her family on Parents Weekend at the FAMU bowling alley
Parents and FAMULY Weekend - September 23, 2023
We welcome all families to participate in Famuly day the hill on September 23, 2023. It will be a weekend full of fun, food, and tradition! On Saturday, the Rattlers will take on the Alabama State University at Bragg memorial Stadium.

What's the Purpose of Family Week?

  • Family Weekend has 4 main goals for FAMU families:

    To reconnect and spend time with your student;

    To create a support network between families;

    To experience FAMU game-day traditions; and

    To explore the campus and the Tallahassee community, your student’s new “home away from home.”
  • Marching 100 on the Set
    During FAMUly Day on the hill, there will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy time with your student and achieve those goals as a family.

Dance the night away and shake your groove thing as FAMULY Day on the Hill returns this fall - but this time, we're gonna go back, way back into time. To DISCO! Join us as we kick off our DISCO-themed events Saturday, September 23, 2023. As usual, we are jam-packing the weekend with frills, thrills, and of course, that unmistakable Rattler Spirit. MORE INFORMATION IS COMING SOON.

College of love and charity

We gather 'round thy noble shrine;

We lift our voice in praise to thee,

And ask a blessing all divine.

FAM-U! FAM-U! I love thee

I'll fight and win what'er the battle be

The Orange and the Green thy Sons shall e'er defend

And loyal to thy voice of love attend

FAM-U! FAM-U! FAM-U! I love thee!

On gridiron, diamond, track and field,

Thy sons the vict'ry never yield¬-

And while they tread a broader life

Thy love shall stay them in the strife.

(repeat Chorus)

God ever keep us true to thee;

Thy faith that truth shall make men free.

Shall guide thy loyal sons aright

And fend them thru' the skeptic night.

(repeat Chorus)
