Jillian L. Pope, Ph.D., is a FAMU Rattler who was committed to returning to give back. But as a junior faculty member, Pope, an assistant professor in the Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Science and Technology, must balance her love for the classroom with her interests in research, specifically colon cancer.
Growing up in her native Bahamas, the only doctors Natalie Arnett, Ph.D., knew about were physicians. The thought of being an engineering professor and scientific researcher remained foreign until she entered Grambling University to earn a bachelor’s in chemistry.
Professor Tarik J. Dickens, Ph.D., comfortably straddles the twin academic pillars of teaching and research for his students.
