Master of Science in Architecture: Facility Management

Architecture: Facility Management
The Master of Science in Architecture: Facility Management (M.S.) program is designed as a one-year curriculum for those students with a four-year, pre-professional degree in architecture and a two-year curriculum for those students without a pre-professional degree in architecture.
The Master of Science in Architecture: Facility Management Track is a collaborative professional degree program between the School of Architecture and the School of Business and Industry. The Master of Science in Architecture: Facility Management Track is appropriate for those who have an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and wish to acquire an industry driven professional degree that enables the graduate to perform facility management services. This Master’s track require independent thinking skills and the ability to solve challenging problems through research, investigation, analysis, and development of sound and learned solutions as well as include a presentation and defense. The Master of Science in Architecture: Facility Management Track does not prepare graduates to become licensed as an architect.

Progress and Retention Requirements

All students seeking admission, provisionally admitted, or fully admitted to a graduate program in the School of Architecture and who are enrolled in upper-division or graduate courses within the School of Architecture are required to meet all of the provisions outlined in the university Catalog for satisfactory progress and retention as determined by the School of Graduate Studies and Research. The requirements for satisfactory progress for such students are different from the general requirements for progress and retention for students admitted and enrolled in undergraduate degree programs.

Students provisionally admitted and fully admitted to graduate programs in the School of Architecture who fail to maintain the required conditions for progress and retention could face termination of their graduate student status. A failing grade in a required course or a grade below that required for advancement in the student's graduate curriculum as described in the Catalog requires course retake. Such retakes follow different grade forgiveness policies from those that apply to undergraduate students' grades.
