Records Management:

FAMU’s University Records Management department assists departments in complying with University, state and federal records regulations. These records include legal, administrative, financial and student records, which are considered for retention, disposition, storage and archival purposes. The records management liaison officer is responsible for administering the program for the University.

In an effort to achieve compliance, each department safeguards its public records. The records designee is responsible for managing and controlling records through their life cycle, from creation to final disposition or permanent retention.

Surplus Property:

The Surplus Property department is responsible for the receipt, transfer and disposal of surplus property. Surplus assets are made available to departments at no cost on a first-come, first-serve basis. The warehouse is open to departments from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday.

The surplus property section conducts quarterly sales. These items include computers, scientific equipment, furniture, electronics and vehicles. Sales are conducted at the FAMU Surplus Warehouse, 2380 Wahnish Way, Tallahassee, FL 32307.


 

Pickup of Surplus Property:

After the completion of appropriate forms, a tracking number is assigned and forwarded to the Moving and Setup Department for arrangement of a pickup. There are no fees or charges assessed for this service with the exception of departments considered auxiliary.
