Go-Live Date: We will start using Workday on December 19, 2025


Welcome to the central resource for information about FAMU's transition to Workday, our new unified cloud-based platform for Human Resources and Business Services.

Workday will streamline processes, reduce manual tasks, and empower our employees and managers with self-service capabilities.

Why Workday?

This transition will allow FAMU to:

How Will FAMU Use Workday?

Workday will support FAMU through two key modules:

Workday Human Capital Management (HCM)
Managing staffing, absence, benefits, compensation, and payroll, while empowering employees with self-service capabilities.

Workday Financial Management
Delivering core financial processes including accounting, reporting, supplier accounts, and banking. This will equip managers and leadership with crucial data for business decisions.


Who is Involved?

This is a collaborative effort involving subject matter experts across FAMU and Workday specialists. A network of change agents within different schools and colleges will also provide support during and after the go-live.

For Employees

Workday will provide you with:

  • Self-Service Capabilities: Easily manage your personal information (address, direct deposit, tax withholdings), request time off, and access pay stubs.
  • Consistent Experience: Enjoy a user-friendly and consistent interface.
  • Access to Information: Have comprehensive and integrated real-time information at your fingertips.
  • Streamlined Processes: Experience end-to-end processes within a single platform, saving you time on administrative tasks.
  • Single Sign-On: Access Workday with your existing FAMU credentials.

You will be able to perform the following tasks in Workday:

  • Time tracking (if applicable)
  • Requesting time off
  • Benefits management
  • Updating personal and contact information
  • Managing direct deposit
  • Accessing pay stubs
For Managers

Workday will enable you to:

  • Access Team Information: Quickly view and manage your direct reports' information through "My Team Management."
  • Approve Requests: Efficiently approve time entries and time off requests.
  • Access Reports: View relevant reports to help manage your team.
  • Manage Team Changes: Initiate job changes such as promotions, separations, and transfers.
  • Access Talent Data: Utilize time-to-fill reports for open positions.

Within Workday, you will have access to Manager Self-Service functions, including:

  • Viewing direct report information
  • Approving time entries and time off requests
  • Viewing reports

Your Role in the Transition

  • We encourage you to share information about Workday with your teams and incorporate talking points into your team meetings.
  • Please provide feedback to our change agent network to ensure all employees receive the necessary support.

 

Timeline & Training

 

April 2025
Initial communications about Workday benefits, key dates, resources, and training information begin.

May 2025
Continued updates on the go-live journey and guidance on preparing for Workday (e.g., login procedures, core process information).

June 2025
Introductory information shared regarding key self-service functionalities and new responsibilities.

Early July 2025
Training tools and resources become available.

Frequently Asked Questions

 

Access to view direct report information, ability to approve time entries and time off requests, viewing reports, and much more!

 

Time tracking (if applicable), requesting time off, benefits management, updating personal and contact information, managing direct deposit, and accessing pay stubs.

 

You will have access to an application called My Team Management where you can quickly view and manage your teams’ information.

We will start to deliver training tools and resources in early July 2025. Training sessions will also be held in the weeks leading up to the go-live.

 

Workday is a unified finance and human resources cloud application designed for the way people work. It will serve as FAMU's single source of truth for information about our People and our Business.

 

Yes, Workday will have a single-sign-on option which you can access with your FAMU username and password.
