FAMU HOMECOMING PARADE!!!!

Greetings! It is that time of year once again when the Florida A&M University (FAMU) Homecoming Parade Committee celebrates another year of fellowship and unity at FAMU. This year, we will celebrate Homecoming Week October 22-29, 2022. The annual Homecoming Parade will be held on October 29 beginning at the intersection of Wahnish Way and Orange Avenue and will kick-off at 8:00 am. Staging of all entries will begin at 6:30 am.

This year's parade will give three awards for overall conformity to the theme. Participants will be judged on originality, creativity, color, general eye appeal. and craftsmanship based on the Homecoming theme.

"The Experience: Homecoming 2022." Only those participants that pay the required entry fee are eligible to compete for the monetary awards. The Judging Committee will determine the final placement of entries, and their decision is final.

(FAMU student clubs/organizations are not required to pay a registration fee. However, if the club/organization wishes to compete for the monetary awards, they are required to pay the appropriate fee listed).

Location/Direction of Parade: (Subject to Change)

Starting at Orange Avenue and Wahnish Way, head north on Wahnish Way to Gamble Street. Make a right onto Gamble Street, continue east and make a right on MLK Jr. Blvd. Continue south on MLK Jr. Blvd . Viewing stage will be located at Lee Hall Auditorium. Parade will end at the Gravel Lot on MLK Blvd and Osceola St.

Registration fee payment  (NO CASH PAYMENTS)

Please pay applicable fees to the Florida A&M University Foundation Office located at 625 E. Tennessee Street. We accept , money orders, and debit/credit cards with a Mastercard or Visa logo. You will be given a receipt that should be attached to your completed application when submitted to the Office of Student Government. Do not submit your application without a proper copy of your receipt from the FAMU Foundation Office.

Application Submission

The attached application must be completed and returned to the Student Government Association office along with a copy of the required FAMU Foundation’s receipt for fee payment and proof of liability insurance and a copy of the driver's license for vehicle or float entries for motorized entries (see the Office of Student Government Association below).

Floats, cars, and trucks must be appropriately decorated. At a minimum, entries will have a sign located on the front and sides of the vehicle identifying its activity. Vehicles that are not appropriately decorated are NOT allowed to participate in the parade.

2022 HOMECOMING PARADE PARTICIPATION APPLICATION


Homecoming Theme:
The Experience: Homecoming 2022

All participants entering the parade must complete and submit an on-line application for processing. For large groups, floats are preferable to cars. A maximum of one vehicle will be allowed per one entry. Your float and towing vehicle are considered one vehicle. Floats, cars, and trucks must be appropriately decorated.

Application deadline is Friday, October 21, 2022 - 5:00 PM EST

PARTICIPANTS MUST SUBMIT RECEIPT FOR REGISTRATION FEE PAYMENT AND PROOF OF LIABILITY INSURANCE AND A COPY OF THE DRIVER'S LICENSE OR MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR'S WITH THE COMPLETED APPLICATION.

Participants will be issued a Parade Pass approximately one week prior to the parade. You will not be allowed to enter into the parade without this pass. NO EXCEPTIONS! Along with the pass, you will receive a parade information sheet that will contain staging information for the start of the parade. The parade will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

THE PARADE COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO EXCLUDE ANY PARTICIPANT ENTRY THAT IS DEEMED INAPPROPRIATE OR UNSUITABLE.
