SFP is a cloud-based financial aid system that manages each student’s financial plan individually, automatically, and in real-time; providing visibility into their entire program, supporting better informed financial decisions, and optimizing outcomes

The FAMU Office of Financial Aid has implemented a fully integrated financial aid system.  Incoming freshmen, transfer and returning students with a completed file for the 2026-2027 academic year can view their Financial Aid package on March 5, 2026 by logging into iRattler, and clicking on FAMU Student Financial Portal (SFP). Information and instructions are listed below.

SUMMER 2026 Important Financial Aid Information

 

Summer Financial Aid is available to FAMU Undergraduate and Graduate students who have registered for a minimum of 6 credit HOURS 

The Office of Financial Aid will only award students who meet the following criteria:

  • Have a valid 2025-2026 FAFSA on file
  • Registered for 6 or more credit hours
  • Be in good status academically and meet
  • Satisfactory Academic Progress
  • FIRST TIME STUDENTS will enroll during Orientation

Students will be disbursed eligible aid based on active enrolled hours during the active term.

Must be attending at least six credit hours. Either 3 hours in Terms A plus C or 6 hours in Terms A, B or C in order to receive summer financial aid.

New Students or students applying for financial aid for the first time at FAMU must complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA. You may apply online at www.studentaid.gov.

Florida A&M University’s school code is 001480.

Deadline is June 30, 2026.

Bright Futures Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) or Bright Futures Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS)

All eligible FAS and FMS students can use their awards in Summer 2026. You must be enrolled in six credit hours or more to be eligible.

Eligible students who received 100% of Federal Pell during the FALL and SPRING semesters now qualify for an additional Pell Grant of up to 150% of the award amount for the academic year.

Eligible students who did not receive 100% of Pell during the FALL and SPRING semesters may be eligible for the remaining award amount. Please visit www.studentaid.gov to see your maximum Pell usage.

The Pell Grant Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU) limit is 600%.

Eligibility for summer loans will be determined based on the difference in the amount of loans borrowed during the FALL 2025 & SPRING 2026 academic year from the annual loan limit per classification.

Please visit www.studentaid.gov to view the maximum loan eligibility amount per grade classification and the total amount of loans taken.


Accepting Loans


  • You must accept the TOTAL LOAN (only if you had a loan disbursed fall and/or spring semester)

  • If attending another Florida institution, check with the Office of Financial Aid to confirm your eligibility. You must also complete the consortium process online via the Florida Shine website at https://www.floridashines.org/

 

  • If attending an institution outside of the State of Florida or studying abroad, you must confirm with your department and complete the paper consortium process by submitting a transient form (Registrar’s Office) and Consortium Agreement to the Office of Financial Aid.

 

  • Please note: You must pay the school attending per their deadline out of pocket.
  • Students are responsible for all fee requirements to the host institution.
  • Financial aid is disbursed after Verification of Enrollment (VOE) is received and confirmed. The VOE is the “Unofficial Transcript” from the host school. VOE must be submitted to the home institution (FAMU) at financialaiddocs@famu.edu
  • All funds are based on eligibility and will not be released until the Verification of Enrollment is confirmed.

Beginning in the 2021-2022 academic year, the FAMU Office of Financial Aid implemented Student Financial Planning (SFP), which:

• Provides Faster processing time
• Provides Real-time visibility of Financial Aid Awards
• Promotes responsible borrowing, reducing loan debt
• Ensures an overall improved user experience
• Provides A Totally integrated Financial Aid (cloud-based) system

This easy-to-use, intuitive application simplifies the financial aid process and ultimately results in higher student satisfaction and improved student outcomes.
