Welcome to Move-In at FAMU!
 
The Office of University Housing is excited to welcome new and returning Rattlers and their families back to Florida A&M University for Fall 2026 Move-In on The Highest of Seven Hills. As you prepare for this exciting new chapter, we encourage all students and parents to carefully review the move-in schedule, move-in guide, and all communication resources provided on this page to help make your arrival smooth, organized, and stress-free.
 
Throughout move-in week, our team will be available to assist you every step of the way as you transition into your new home on campus. From important dates and check-in information to helpful tips and updates, this page has been designed to keep you informed and prepared for a successful move-in experience.

The primary vehicle route shall be Althea Gibson, Gaines Street, Osceola Street, and Perry Street (both directions). Emergency vehicles shall be given priority for travel if an emergency incident occurred.

Once the student has been given the approval to begin moving their belongings into their room, parents/ guardians may move their vehicle to the unloading area of the residence hall. Someone must remain with the vehicle while unloading or assisting the student. Because parking is limited, unloading zones are for temporary 1 Hour parking only. Campus police will be present to offer directions and parking restrictions.

Once the vehicle has been unloaded, it must be moved to the designated extended-stay parking area. Vehicles remaining in unloading zones beyond the allotted time are subject to towing at the owner's expense.

Carts – or large wheeled bins – and dollies are provided for students on a first-come-first-serve basis and may be checked out for a limited time. To check out cart or dolly, residents will need to provide an identification card. There is a limit to one cart/dolly per person. We recommend you bring your own dolly/hand truck to assist with your move-in.
Elevator access is offered in the following residential facilities: Polkinghorne Village, FAMU Towers, Sampson Hall, Young Hall, and Palmetto Street Phase III. Palmetto Street South does not have elevators, so please plan accordingly.
To avoid getting overwhelmed on Move-In Day, some items may be brought or shipped at a more convenient date.
FAMU is not a pet-friendly campus. No pets or animals may remain on campus with students unless they have been officially approved through the university's ESA process. Students seeking an Emotional Support Animal must complete the required process through CEDAR and receive university approval prior to bringing the animal to campus.
Please complete or pre-fill any required forms in eRezLife prior to arriving on campus to help expedite the check-in process.
It is imperative that you activate and regularly monitor your FAMU email account, as it is the university's official method of communication and where you will receive important housing updates. You may recieve important information leading up to move-in for pre-arrival from your Area Coordinator or Resident Director, including important move-in instructions and community updates.
Please be aware that the residence halls close for university breaks and the end of each semester so please plan accordingly. Check out the important dates.

Tobacco: FAMU is a tobacco free campus, this includes use of electronic cigarettes and vape pens Alcohol: University policy prohibits the possession, consumption, or storage of any alcoholic beverages or containers.  Drugs: The use, sale or possession of any illegal drugs and/or drug paraphernalia is prohibited.
