An interdisciplinary scholar, Dr. Marcia Allen Owens is a biochemist, environmental
lawyer, and natural teacher. A trailblazer, Dr. Owens is first woman to be promoted
to the rank of Full Professor of Environmental Science at Florida A&M University.
She leads the Center for Faculty ADVANCEment, initially funded via a $3.1 million
National Science Foundation cooperative agreement, which focus on professional development
for faculty and graduate students.
