About Me


Chenita Carter, PharmD., MS is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health at the Durell Peaden Jr., Rural Pharmacy Education Campus located in Crestview, Florida. Prior to joining FAMU, she worked as a pediatric clinical pharmacist and precepted pharmacy learners from various schools of pharmacy. Dr. Carter is an active member of several pharmacy organizations and precepts fourth-year pharmacy learners in ambulatory care, medication therapy management and health literacy. Her passion for student success is evident as she initiated a “Giving Closet” for pharmacy learners where gently used professional clothing is donated and provided free of charge. As well as an annual decorating door contest to promote collegiality and inclusion. Additionally, she has published several non-peer-reviewed articles with pharmacy learners. Dr. Carter provides health related presentations and health screenings to the Northwest Florida community.
