About Me


S. Marjorie Thomas currently serves as Assistant Dean for Student Services / Dean of Students at Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Law, a role she assumed in an interim capacity in February 2025, following a distinguished career in higher education. .

Thomas is President and Founder of Strategic Educational Review & Consulting (SERC, LLC), where she advised institutions nationwide on strategic planning, compliance, student success initiatives, and organizational development. Her leadership portfolio includes roles as Vice President for Student Affairs and Special Assistant to the President at New College of Florida, Dean of Students at William & Mary, and Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at the College of Charleston.

A native of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Thomas holds a Juris Doctor from Florida A&M University, a Master of Education from the University of Georgia, and a Bachelor of Arts from Florida International University. Her expertise includes crisis response and management, Title IX and ADA compliance, academic intervention, policy development, enrollment management, and organizational leadership.

As an adjunct faculty member, she taught courses at William & Mary, The Citadel, and other institutions in enrollment management, higher education law, and institutional governance.

Thomas has received numerous accolades for her contributions to higher education, including the Chambers-Reid Award for Professional Excellence from William & Mary, the TRIO Upward Bound Wings Award from the College of Charleston, and both Administrator of the Year and Advisor of the Year honors from the University of Miami.

She is a member of the Florida Bar, Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society, Rho Lambda Honor Society, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
