About Me

I obtained my undergraduate degree in Mathematics in Sri Lanka, where I later served as a faculty member at the same university for more than five years. During that time, I pursued a Master of Science program and earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Mathematics.
I then joined Eastern Illinois University as a graduate student and obtained a Master of Arts degree in 2016. Subsequently, I attended the University of Toledo for my Ph.D., which I completed in 2021. In the same year, I joined Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics.
My research primarily focuses on Lie theory, particularly on constructing and classifying new Lie algebras of higher dimensions. This work involves extensive use of mathematical software, especially Maple. In addition to my research and teaching responsibilities, I actively serve on several departmental committees, including the Graduate Committee, Scheduling Committee, and the Undergraduate Mathematics Majors Committee.
