About Me


Dr. Idongesit Mkpong-Ruffin is an associate professor in the Department of Computer and Information Science at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), where she also serves as the Director of the Center of Cyber Security and Coordinator for the B.S. Cybersecurity degree program. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Software Engineering from Auburn University, with a focus on quantitative software risk assessment models. She is the Principal Investigator on multiple National Science Foundation (NSF) grants aimed at advancing AI and cybersecurity research.

Drawing on more than a decade of academic leadership, Dr. Mkpong-Ruffin has served as Chair of both the Computer Science Department at Faulkner University and the Computer and Information Sciences Department at FAMU. As a dedicated educator, she teaches a wide range of courses, from fundamental programming to emerging areas of computing. She also actively mentors both graduate and undergraduate students, guiding their research and preparing the next generation of computing professionals.
