Transfer Academic Success

The Transfer Academic Success Program is committed to assisting transfer students in successfully transitioning to the University, both academically and socially.  We assist students in resolving issues and informing them about campus resources.  We care about the success of our transfer students and encourage them to strive toward their academic and career goals.  Here are some of the transfer programs and organizations at Florida A&M University.

How We Support Transfer Students

Transfer Student Peer Mentors serve to provide academic support and guidance to prospective and current transfer students.  Our diverse group of Mentors are dedicated to representing the office of Transfer Academic Success and the campus of Florida A&M University.  Mentors are paired by major and are prepared to inform students, family and the community about the benefits, culture and traditions of our wonderful campus.  They participate in various events and programs designed to assist our newest Rattlers with their transition to FAMU.

TSA is a student organization that helps connect transfer students to one another and assist each other in areas of need at the university level. We strive to inform and engage transfer students in activities and events on campus and within the Tallahassee Community.

Tau Sigma is a national academic society for transfer students who achieve a 3.5 or higher GPA during their first term at Florida A&M University.  Tau Sigma was established at FAMU in 2016 to recognize outstanding students who transfer to the university each year.
