The Marching “100” Summer Band Camp is one of the most comprehensive band camps in the country. This band camp offers middle and high school students the opportunity to improve their music proficiency, improve their marching concepts, play in small chamber groups, as well as perform concert band and jazz ensemble music. We have an excellent auxiliary staff that instructs our color guard, dancers, twirlers, and drum majors.
This HYBRID program exposes students to training to STEM courses, as well as research projects in STEM areas. Students will participate in professional development and team building activities designed to expose them to career opportunities in STEM areas. The program include weekly field trips, and will conclude with both a research symposium where students present research projects and a Closing Ceremony. FACE-TO-FACE program (with limited Virtual spaces available).
This virtual program introduces students to Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Business,
and Marketing, and STEM through interactive learning activities. Students will work
in groups on team building and leadership skills through Entrepreneurial and STEM
challenges. Students will present their experiences in a showcase at the end of the
program. The registration fee includes a camp activity kit and a t-shirt.
This is a one-week day camp designed to teach participants about the exciting world
of Electrical Engineering. They will learn fundamental concepts in power, energy,
wireless communications, 3D printing, artificial intelligence, and robotics. This
camp emphasizes technical skills, professional development, and career awareness in

This is a one-week academic camp designed to teach AI based on Python and TensorFlow. Participants will learn the basic ideas in neural networks and convolutional neural networks and the practical technique on how to build and train neural networks. This camp emphasizes academic preparation, professional development, and career awareness of STEM careers in computer engineering and data science.

This four-day overnight program will expose rising sophomores, juniors and seniors to the various areas of pharmacy by introducing them to a number of pharmacy careers. Additionally, campers will be given the opportunity to enhance their math, science and presentation skills. This will be achieved through lab experiments, presentations and field trips.

Participants will work in a team setting on ASTERIX projects in advanced sensor technologies with a focus on applications in Electrical Engineering. They will use instructional design strategies to prepare grade-level appropriate lesson plans and activities based on ASTERIX research that is transferable to a high-school learning environment. This program broadens the participation of k-12 STEM teachers in Electrical Engineering research. U. S. citizenship is required.

The program is designed to increase participants interest in Engineering Technology careers. It will include one week of curriculum and activities related to STEM education. These activities will be student centered and make learning fun and engaging. This camp will also prepare students for their ACT/SAT exams by giving sample exams and guiding them through some basic concepts in Mathematics adhering to SAT preparation. To keep students engaged and make this more exciting, different popular online games such as kahoot and jeopardy are implemented.

The FAMU DRS Freedom School Program is a CDF Freedom School Partner. This six-week literacy program incorporates the totality of CDF’s mission by fostering environments that support children and young adults to excel and believe in their ability to make a difference in themselves and in their families, schools, communities, country and the world with hope, education and action. Participation in all six weeks of instruction is mandatory.

This is an intensive week-long program designed to help students develop a better understanding of science through experiential activities in Food Science that are linked to the Florida Standards. Food Science STEM experiential activities investigate the nature o foods, the basis of deterioration, the principles of food production and processing and the enhancements of foods for the consumer.

This program engages participants in experiential learning activities related to forestry and natural resources such as water, soils, plant DNA, and wildlife. It also exposes them to careers related to forestry and natural resources, and promotes environmental stewardship and conservation of our natural resources.

This program provides academic support to students who attend FAMU DRS, Godby, Rickards, Jefferson Somerset, and Madison County high schools. The students will reside on campus and take classes that will prepare them for the next school year, while being exposed to STEM and Health Sciences activities, majors, and professionals.

This program will introduce high school students to college-level writing through instruction by faculty and trained students. Participants will be exposed to campus resources, including the museum, art gallery to further explore the visual, digital and literary arts. Each session will culminate with a digital presentation/portfolio showcasing each participant’s work. Students completing at least two sessions will be eligible for publication in the campus literary journal.
