Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History

History is the study of all facets of human civilization, and its changes over time, as a way of understanding the present-day.

About This Program

Students will examine how and why significant social, political, technological, medical, and religious developments impacted the world we know today.

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History requires 120 semester hours to complete.


All students majoring in History are required to earn 30-36 semester credit hours in history courses. 

Unlike the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program, students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) program must complete twelve (12) semester credit hours of foreign language in a single language, typically Spanish or French.

Additionally, they need to earn a minor of eighteen (18) credit hours in a second area of concentration.

All students — majors and minors — must have at least a 2.0 GPA overall to qualify for graduation with a degree in any of the programs.

All courses — other than natural sciences  must be passed with a grade of “C” or better.
