FAMU Concert Choir Wins First Place in ‘Battle of Voices’

Florida A&M University Concert Choir, fresh off its national appearance at the NFL Kickoff in Tampa, won top honors in the inaugural “The Battle of Voices.”

Competing against choirs from Edward Waters College (EWC) and Florida Memorial University (FMU), the FAMU Concert Choir won first place First Place  and Audience favorite,.  The event was hosted by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Zeta Tau Omega Chapter in West Palm Beach, Fla. The audience participated in a Zoom poll to vote for their favorite choir. The Choir earned $750, bragging rights and a plaque

EWC won second place- $500, bragging rights and a plaque. FMU placed third Place and took home $250, bragging rights and a plaque.

The contest was held virtually on Sunday, September 26 from 5-7 p.m. Each Choir had a chance to submit no more than 15-minute video presentations and were judged on musical presentation, vocal presentation, visual presentation, creativity and showmanship.
