Haiti Relief

Dear FAMU Family, Supporters and Friends:

Welcome to the website for the Florida A&M University-Haiti Relief Effort.  As a FAMU community, our hearts go out to the residents of Haiti whose lives have been forever changed by this catastrophic earthquake which occurred on Tuesday, January 12, 2010.

Florida A&M University has nearly 80 students enrolled who are residents of Haiti and many more who have family members residing there.  The university has launched an effort to assist those students who are from the area to deal with the tragedy and has established the FAMU-Haiti Relief Fund through the FAMU Foundation to provide financial support to the earthquake-stricken area.  You can also donate to the FAMU-Haiti Relief Fund through our mobile giving campaign by texting the word "Relief" to 50555.

We are asking members and supporters of the FAMU family to support our efforts and to keep us informed about ways that we can assist those who are in need.   We are asking that you keep our Office of International Education and Development aware of any concerns that you may have as we continue our relief efforts.  Our Interim Assistant Vice President of that office, Joseph V. Jones, can be contacted at joseph.jones@famu.edu. This is the link to make an online donation: https://secure.qgiv.com/cps_donors/?key=famu&restrict=1.FAMU Haiti Relief Fund-1583

Help us in our efforts to rebuild and support Haiti.
