TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – ESPN’s award-winning COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAME DAY presented by HOME DEPOT will air live from Florida A&M University’s (FAMU) campus Saturday, November 15, beginning at 10 a.m. The two-hour live broadcast precedes the network’s varied weekly offering of televised games. The Saturday broadcast will take place on FAMU’s quadrangle with the main set located in front of Coleman Library.
This weekend’s appearance at FAMU marks the first appearance for the show from the campus of a historically black college or university and may be one of the few appearances ever for the program from an NCAA Division One FCS (Football Championship Subdivision, formerly I-AA) campus.
The show is hosted by veteran ESPN anchor Chris Fowler, while featuring an expert panel which includes Coach Lee Corso, former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit and former Michigan Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard.
Saturday’s broadcast will preview all the day’s top college games, highlighting key football personalities and will close with the much-anticipated predictions segment — picking winners of key games.
FAMU’s “Marching 100” Band, under the direction of Julian White, will also appear during the broadcast, along with FAMU cheerleaders, students and fans.
The GAME DAY program will be just one of three sports-related events scheduled for Saturday. The Rattler football team will close its 2008 home schedule against Hampton University at 1 p.m. at Bragg Stadium followed by the women's basketball team home opener against Albany (Ga.) State at 7:30 p.m. in Gaither Gym.
