Greetings!
Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University recognize its outstanding teachers annually from throughout the campus by presenting academic awards, which are available to all colleges offering undergraduate and graduate instructions.
These awards are to encourage and reward excellence, innovation, and effectiveness. The purpose of awarding teaching (for delivering instructions in-person, online, or hybrid settings) scholarly activities and service is to recognize members of the faculty who have distinguished themselves among their peers both within and outside the University.
This award will be bestowed upon a faculty member through the process of a nomination and a fair peer review by a University-wide "Teacher of the Year Selection Committee,” chaired by a senator. The committee will identify the recipients as outstanding members of their profession. The successful candidate(s) should have a continual and coherent record of professional performance and be identified with a distinct body of knowledge.
Indicators of significant impact by the candidate's teaching, scholarly activities and service are essential and markers of distinction often specific to the candidate's discipline or area of academic pursuit. The selected individuals must have unassailable credentials worthy of the Faculty Senate award.
