Minor in History

History is the study of all facets of human civilization, and its changes over time, as a way of understanding the present-day.

About This Program

Students will examine how and why significant social, political, technological, medical, and religious developments impacted the world we know today.

The Minor in History requires 18 semester credit hours to complete.


Those interested in earning a minor in History are required to complete a minimum of eighteen (18) hours. The following courses are required:

AMH 2010 OR AMH 2020,
HIS 3104
HIS 3150

Additionally, they must earn nine (9) credit hours of 3000-4000 level history elective courses.


All students — majors and minors — must have at least a 2.0 GPA overall to qualify for graduation with a degree in any of the programs.

All courses must be passed with a grade of “C” or better.
