Test Service Bureau

Dear FAMU Freshman Applicant,

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many freshman applicants to FAMU have been unable to sit for the ACT or the SAT.  To accommodate as many FAMU applicants as possible, the FAMU Test Service Bureau will be offering limited seats for the ACT On-Campus, an alternative to the ACT National Test.

The ACT On-Campus scores are restricted to the college campus that administers the test.  Scores are not valid for nor transferred to any other institution.  No Student or High School Reports are generated by ACT.  The exam scores are not valid for NCAA qualifications.

At FAMU, the ACT On-Campus will be administered on four (4) Saturdays in 2021.  Dates for the test are:

     January 23, 2021
     February 20, 2021
     March 20, 2021
     April 10, 2021

The cost is $83.50.  Applicants are responsible for the cost of the exam and for the cost of their own transportation to/from the FAMU campus.  ALL COVID-19 protocols issued by FAMU and local/state governments will be followed.

If you desire to take the ACT On-Campus at FAMU, you need to click the link below or paste it in your browser.  An instruction sheet is attached to guide you through the process.  Please register as soon as possible as space is limited.  The registration closes seven (7) days before each test date or once the maximum number of registrations is reached. Registration is not complete if the fee is not paid on-line.

An email will be sent to confirm your registration.  Additional instructions will be sent to your FAMU email before the test date.  Please check your FAMU email periodically.

This is your opportunity to “STRIKE!” as an incoming Rattler.

Please contact FAMU Testing at 850/599-3333 or famutesting@famu.edu for more information.

*COVID-19 Protocols*

In the event of a campus or community-based outbreak or resurgence of COVID-19, the testing date will be cancelled.  Every effort will be made to provide the information as early as possible.  Applicants registered to take the exam will be contacted via telephone, text and email of the cancellation.

Applicants will need to provide proof of a COVID-19 test that was taken in the previous 48 hours.  Testing sites in Florida can be found at www.floridadisaster.org (https://www.floridadisaster.org/covid19/testing-sites/) and at the Florida Department of Health (https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/testing-sites/).  A free community testing site is also located on the FAMU campus at Bragg Memorial Stadium.

Registered test takers are required to wear a face covering/mask the entire time they are in the building; during the test and to the bathroom.

Only one person may accompany the test taker to FAMU.  Individuals waiting for the student will be directed to a building where they can wait.  Water and prepackaged snack items will be provided.

During this pandemic period, all campus guests are expected to adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines:

  • ·               wash your hands with soap and water frequently or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • ·               maintain 6 feet distance between you and others
  • ·               wear a face covering/mask when on campus
