COMMUNITY SPANISH CONVERSATION CLASS
The Division of Continuing Education is pleased to offer it's
Community Spanish Conversation Class.
Target Audience: Rising Middle and High School Students, and Adults
Participants will learn to be more culturally and linguistically competent by learning to communicate in another language. The course is organized around topical conversation elements to facilitate handling telephone inquiries, reception issues, interview questions, travel, shopping, and other conversational topics. The course is designed for fun as well as workforce activities.
There will be one 4 week session beginning September 29 - October 23, 2014 with no more than 40 students in each class. Class members may range in age from a mature 14 or 15 year old on up. Levels/experience with Spanish won’t matter because it’s conversation. Students will be speaking to one another before the end of the first class!
The class will meet on Mondays and Thursdays from 6 - 7:30 pm. Food is not allowed. Can’t talk with your mouth full. Participants should feel free to bring liquids to quench their thirst from all the talking! The fee is $75 a week. FAMU participants may pay through payroll deduction. Other payment options are available.
The text we’ll use is a soft cover edition of Merriam-Webster’s easy learning Spanish Conversation developed in Association with Collins.
