Meal Plan

Dormitory Students

All students residing in the following residence halls are required to sign up for a meal plan (MP):  FAMU Village , Gibbs, Truth,
Paddyfoote, Sampson  and Young.

You must be enrolled in classes to sign up for a meal plan.  Your RattlerCard is your meal card. 

Meal Plan Description

There are three Dining Plans for Residential Students.  They are the Gold, Silver and Bronza Meal Plans.  The Gold Plan is an unlimitd 7-Day plan w/$100 Flex Bucks.  The Silver Plan is an unlimited 5-Day (M-F) plan w/$150 Flex bucks.  The Bronze Plan has 9 meals per week w/$200 Flex Bucks.  These Meal Plans are to be used in the main dining hall.  Flex Bucks maybe used at all campus restaurants.  Additional Flex bucks may be purchased by selecting an uprade (i.e. Plus Plan)

Meal Equivalency - Students may use their meal swipes at any retail establishment by using a meal equivalency up to $6.25 per meal period. 

Meal Plan Description

The number 9 in the Bronze Meal Plan represents the number of reloaded meals each week, to be used in the main dining hall.
Flex Bucks maybe used at all campus restaurants.

 How to Purchase:

All students must have a Student ID (Rattler Card) for the Meal Plan. Report to the Student Services Center Building
to receive a Rattler Card, please have some form of a picture ID and your class schedule.

Go online to sign-up for the Meal plan:

  1. Go to
  2. Select iRattler icon
  3. Login with your username & password
  4. Select Campus Solutions Center self service (from the menu)
  5. select Finances, then FAMU Meal Plan
  6. Select term
  7. At the bottom of the meal plan agreement, select Meal plan (use the hourglass)
  8. Accept select process

Cancellation / Change Deadlines:

Contact the Rattler card / meal plan office located in the Student Service Center @ 850-599-8366 for questions, cancelation
or changes.

Meal Cards:

Selection of a Campus Dining Services Meal Plan entitles you to a Meal Card, which allows you purchasing power
equivalent to the plan you have selected. Here is how it works: Present Rattler card to cashier to access meal plan
at the dining hall. Simple as that.

Lost or stolen Meal Cards can be replaced. Should this happen to you… Contact the Rattler card office @ (850) 599-8366

Special Dietary Needs:

Do you have particular dietary needs? No problem! Our Campus Dining Services Program can accommodate your

Policies & Procedures:

You never have to be too shy to ask for seconds with our Campus Dining Program. Our generous policy allows for a
second helping of many menu favorites. All you have to do is ask! Please note, however, that there are some
exceptions to our Seconds Policy including: All you can eat is for Dine-in guests only. No carry outs.

One of our main goals is to provide a pleasant, clean, comfortable and satisfying dining experience. In order to meet
this goal, we ask for your assistance with the following procedures:

  • Please bus your tray and disposables from your table when you have finished dining
  • Please refrain from taking food, dishes or utensils from the dining area.
  • Remember that Meal Cards are non-transferable. Meal cards cannot be used by anyone but the purchaser.

Faculty and Staff Meal Plans:


Cost:                                                   Orange 25  $140  for 25 meals

                                                            Orange and Green  $250 for 18 meals and $150 Flex Bucks

                                                            Flex 275   $250 for $275 Flex Bucks

 Payment Type:                                 Currently payroll deduction only. *Credit card payments are forthcoming.

 How to Sign up:                                Complete a faculty/staff meal plan form by clicking on the link below or at the Rattler
Card Office in the Student Service Center.  Fax or hand deliver the completed form to the Rattler Card Office.  The Rattler
Card Office’s fax # 850.599.8084.

How the Meal Plan is Used:              You are allowed one swipe per meal period.  There are three meal periods:  breakfast,
lunch and dinner (at applicable facilities).  Please note that the meal plan equivalency rate is $6.25.  This means that up to
$6.25 will be credited for each swipe.  Should the cost of your meal exceed $6.25, you will be required to pay the difference
with cash, debit/credit card, Rattler Bucks or a second meal swipe. 

Note: If you elect to use a second meal swipe, you will essentially be paying $12.50 for your purchase.  Change will not be given.

Main Dining Room in the Student Service Center, Rattler’s Nest in the Foote-Hilyer Administration Center, Orange Room in
the Commons, President’s Dining Room in the Student Union; and the College of Engineering
