Coming from the Atlanta area with a background as a working musician and composer, Brian Hall joined the faculty at Florida A&M University in 2004. Mr. Hall had previously earned a Bachelor’s of Music in Jazz Studies from Georgia State University in 1998, worked professionally up and down the East Coast, and then returned to the world of academia earning a Master’s of Music in Jazz Studies from Florida State University in 2002. Mr. Hall had returned to the Atlanta area where he had the opportunity to perform with many musicians of note including Marcus Printup, Charles Davis, Richie Vitale, Russell Gunn, Winard Harper, and Tim Armacost to name a few.

Since his appointment at Florida A&M University, Mr. Hall has continued to perform in many diverse environments and settings. He currently performs with a bass and guitar duo, a world music ensemble, with various regional pops orchestras, with the ARTISM Ensemble, with the FAMU Faculty Jazz Ensemble as a part of the Jazz Jams series, and in a variety of jazz groups in a diverse range of settings. His world music ensemble, Cuarteto del Sur, has performed in many venues including for the concert series Friday Musicale in Jacksonville, FL, as well as guest appearances at Valdosta State University and with the Jacksonville Children’s Choir. Mr. Hall’s ARTISM Ensemble continues to bring awareness to Autism Spectrum Disorder with performances for the state of Florida at the state archives, performances in association with FSU’s Center for Autism Related Disabilities, and a recent performance for the international conference of the Society for Disability Studies. As a performer with the Jazz Jams series, Brian has had the chance to impact over 50,000 students in Leon County and surrounding counties. Mr. Hall continues to compose and to be an extremely active performer throughout the region.
