Military Experience:  Captain Daniels enlisted in the Marine Corps September 1993 and underwent recruit training at 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, Echo Company, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

 

Upon completion of Basic Training and Marine Combat Training (MCT), Captain Daniels reported to the Basic Engineer School at Courthouse Bay, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where he received the Military Occupational Specialty of 1371 Combat Engineer.

 

In March of 1994, Captain Daniels received orders to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion (2nd CEB), 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, N.C.   He served in a variety of billets from Demo-man to Squad leader.   During his tenure with 2nd CEB, Captain Daniels served as an Engineer Detachment to 1st Battalion 6th Marines and deployed with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit. 

 

In May 1997, Captain Daniels was transferred to Marine Wing Support Squadron 171, Iwakuni, Japan.  Outside of his primary duties as a Combat Engineer, he served as the Intelligence Chief.

In July 1998, Captain Daniels received orders to Drill Instructor School, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

 

Upon completion of Drill Instructor School, from which he finished with honors, he was assigned to Golf Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion.  There he served as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Series Gunnery Sergeant.  He finished with a successful tour, completing a total of nine cycles.

 

Captain Daniels was then transferred to Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay, HI., where he serve as the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Headquarters and Service Battalion, before being transferred to Marine Corps Aircraft Facility.  Again working outside of his military occupational specialty he was assigned numerous support duties to include; Ground Safety Officer, Hazardous Materials Chief, Substance Abuse Control Officer, and Staff Non-C0mmisioned Officer In-Charge of the Funeral Detail.

 

In September of 2005, he was selected for the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program.  He attended Savannah State University, where he received a Bachelors of Science in Sociology Summa Cum Laude. He was then commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in 2007.

 

In October 2007, Captain Daniels reported to The Basic School, Quantico, Va.  Upon completion he was designated as a Logistics Officer.  From there he reported to Camp Johnson, Jacksonville N.C. for completion of his follow-on school.

 

In September 2008, Captain Daniels reported for duty at Marine Wing Support Squadron 273 in Beaufort, SC.  He deployed to OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, serving as the Combat Engineer Platoon Commander.  Other billets Captain Daniels held while serving with MWSS-273 included; Motor Transport Platoon Commander, S-3 Alpha, and Engineer Company Commander.

 

In August 2011, Captain Daniels reported for duty to 2D Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment, Parris Island, S.C.  There he served three cycles as a Series Commander, two cycles as an Executive Officer, and three cycles as a Company Commander.

 

In August 2014 Captain Daniels reported for duty at 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade, aboard Camp Lejeune NC., where he served as the Generals Aide for Major General Simcock. He also served in the 2d MEB G-4 as an Operational Logistics Planner and Maintenance Management Officer.

 

In June 2016 Captain Daniels transitioned to the NROTC unit aboard Florida A &M University, where here serves as the Marine Officer Instructor and Assistance Professor of Naval Science.
