Founder and artistic director Shepiro Hardemon expressed his enthusiasm.
“It is really overwhelming for the Strikers to have this opportunity to perform on MTV,” said Hardemon.
Kimberly Jackson, advisor for the Strikers, stated that she is extremely proud of them.
“We want everyone to tune in and vote for the Strikers,” said Jackson.
The members of the Strikers include Tallie Brinson III; Otheus Manuel; Peterson Thelisma; Edwin Bennet; Michael Washington; Welton Maurice Nance; and Joel Daley.
Established in 1989 at FAMU, the Strikers motto is “If you can survive being a Striker, you can survive anything.”
In the coming weeks, the Strikers will compete against other dance teams for the coveted title of America’s Best Dance Crew.
After each week’s competition on MTV, individuals can cast his or her vote for their favorite dance crew on MTV.com.
