FAMU’s President-Elect James H. Ammons appoints transition team
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — President-elect James H. Ammons has appointed a transition team to advise him as he works to assume the presidency at Florida A&M University.
“I’m pleased with the collective strength that this incredibly talented team brings to the process,” Ammons said. “They represent diverse stakeholder groups and are extremely knowledgeable about higher education in Florida and at FAMU, in particular. Their advice on matters related to the transition and top priorities for my first 500 days as president will provide a well-rounded and informed perspective as I move forward.”
Edward Penson, former president of Salem College (Winston-Salem. N.C.) and former Chancellor of Wisconsin Oshkosh, will facilitate the sessions. Penson is senior principal of Penson Associates, Inc., a research and

consultations firm based in Florida.
Ammons plans to meet with the transition team twice a month until he officially reports to work on July 2.
