TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Oct.17) – If you can’t make it to Tallahassee for homecoming, you can still enjoy all of the festivities. FAMU Athletics will present a one hour special prior to the Webcast of the FAMU vs. Howard football game, that captures everything that went on during homecoming, plus more. The special will air on Rattler Vision starting at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, and lead into the game.
The project is being done by student interns, in the sports information department, who major in journalism and business administration. As part of the collaboration with the two schools, student interns are given grades on their productions throughout the semester. The internships are supported by Ann Wead Kimbrough, DBA, dean of the School of Journalism and Graphic Communication and Shawnta Friday-Stroud, Ph.D., dean of the School of Business and Industry.
The hour-long show captures the coronation of Mr. and Miss FAMU, the health fair, the comedy show, the fashion show, convocation, a portion of Saturday morning’s parade and much, much more. It’s the next best thing to being here in Tallahassee.
Following the special, the video will switch directly to the homecoming game, as the Marching “100” will be taking the field. The game will be produced by Vantage Media, with Keith Miles and Michael Thomas doing the commentating. The cost for the broadcast is just $7.95 and it goes directly to support FAMU Athletics.
