UNIVERSITY BUDGET PLANNING COUNCIL (UBPC)

The Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University UBPC facilitates planning, budgeting and allocation of the University’s resources according to the University’s Strategic Plan. The chief financial officer and vice president of finance and administration chairs the Council, which also includes the provost and vice president of academic affairs, the vice president of student affairs, the vice president for university advancement, the vice president for research, the vice president of audit, the president of Faculty Senate, the president of Student Government Association, the associate vice president for construction and facilities management, the budget director, the director of athletics, the director of human resources and other additions as made by the president.

The specific responsibilities of the UBPC include:
Recommending the annual distribution of resources.
Recommending annual expenditure caps for the University.
Establishing annual set-asides to ensure strategic priorities are accomplished.
Establishing timelines for University budget activities.
Routinely monitoring resource allocation and recommending changes.
Handling other resource allocation issues as assigned by the president.
Maintaining the minutes of each meeting.
