Background
The Office of Institutional Research is responsible for providing the university administration with information that supports institutional planning, policy formation and decision making; for coordinating responses to inquiries for university-related information and serving as a comprehensive source for information about the institution; and for administering the Board of Governors data collection/reporting system on campus. The Office of Institutional Research works collaboratively with all members of the university community to enhance the educational mission as set forth in the University's Strategic Plan. The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness serves to assist all members of the university community with their assessment, program evaluation, and research initiatives. Apart from the office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, OIR meets the information needs of the offices of the President, the Vice Presidents and the Deans, in that priority sequence. Additionally, OIR provides routine data and reporting activities and procedures designed to meet the needs of constituencies both internal and external to the University. Finally, established under the Office of Institutional Research (OIR), the Institutional Research Council (IRC) serves as an advisory council for the development of an institutional research agenda, and provides guidance for the planning and development of institutional research projects. The IRC includes representatives from the entire university community. |
