The Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University  (FAMU) Naval Reserve Officer's Training Corps (NROTC) battalion serves as a cross-town affiliate with Florida State University (FSU) and Tallahassee Community College (TCC). The Rattler Battalion leads the way in training future Naval officers for successful careers in the fleet and beyond.

Mission:

FAMU NROTC prepares midshipmen to become the leaders of tomorrow's Navy and Marine Corps. Through academics, athletics, and military discipline, our students gain the tools necessary to overcome challenges and face adversity with confidence.

About the Rattler Battalion:

The Rattler Battalion has approximately sixty students, with half attending FAMU and the other half attending FSU and TCC. We are located in the Perry-Paige building (Bldg. 561) on the campus of FAMU in Tallahassee, Florida.  Our students graduate, commission and become Naval Aviators,  Naval Flight Officers, Surface Warfare Officers, Special Warfare Officers (SEALS), Special Operations Officers (Dive/EOD), Submarine Officers, or Marine Corps Officers.
