Carrels & Study Rooms |
| Study Rooms are available on the second and third floors of Coleman Library. Group study rooms are limited to a minimum of three persons for each room. Individual study carrels and other reading and study areas are located throughout the library. Vending machines are available in the Student Study Lounge. Please restrict all eating and drinking to this area.

| Computers |
|
Computers are located on each floor of the library. All computers have
Aleph, electronic databases, and Internet access. For Aleph, database, or
Internet assistance use the
computers located in the Reference Department. To access
the electronic databases from outside of the library click the Off-Campus
Access link on the Libraries' home
page. For word processing (e.g. typing papers) use the computers located to the right
and left of the front entrance
of the library or the computer lab located in the Instructional Media Center, first floor, room
117. Currently enrolled students
and current employees who have registered for the laptop lending service may
borrow a laptop for up to four hours of in-library use per day. Click here for more laptop info.

| Copyright Compliance |
Materials that are in compliance with
Copyright Policy may be placed
on reserve. Compliance may include securing permission from the copyright
owner and paying copyright fees as necessary. Assistance for copyright
clearance is available from the University Bookstore. These materials
must be accompanied by a completed and signed Copyright Compliance Statement.
Please note that submission of the signed Copyright Compliance Statement
certifies that the instructor has read, understood, and complied with copyright
law and will be held solely liable for any violations of the law.

| Course Reserve |
| Click here to
see items currently on reserve for your class. Any faculty member or instructor
may place library books, personal books, and articles that are bound on
reserve. For instructions on how to place materials on reserve see the
Reserve
Policy.

| Interlibrary Loan |
| The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service provides access to library materials
not owned by Florida A&M University (FAMU) Libraries. Located in
room 208 of Coleman Library, ILL services are provided to FAMU's
faculty, staff, and students who are currently enrolled and engaged in
academic research. Service is also provided to State university students
who are enrolled in distance learning/off-campus courses. ILL requests
may be submitted electronically
or at the Coleman Library Reference desk.

| Library Instruction |
| Instruction is offered in the use of library resources, the online catalog,
and
electronic databases. Classes are held in the information literacy room, 4th
floor, room 410. Faculty may arrange instruction for their classes during
the regular class hour.
Instruction will be tailored to fit the needs of the class. Regularly scheduled information
literacy sessions on topics such as, searching the Web, writing papers, electronic
access, etc. are
offered throughout the semester. Click here for scheduling
and contact information. Faculty and students
may also schedule individualized instruction for in-depth research assistance.

| Online Renewal |
| Borrowers may view and renew items that are currently checked out. Go to the
online catalog, click on "renewals/your Account" to view your account options within the Library Catalog. (If you
have not already signed-in, you will be prompted to do so.) Then click on the
"Loans" link to see a list of all the items you currently have checked out along
with their due dates. Click here to do so.

| Photocopy |
| Photocopiers are located on the 2nd floor at the rear of the Reference Department and on the 3rd Floor near the periodicals. Please
bring your Rattler Card or sufficient change. Photocopies are $.08
per page with your Rattler Card and $.10 per page without your card. A
color copier is located in the Cirulation area. The cost to copy is $1.00.
Value may be credited to your card with $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills. Rattler
Card money machines are located in the Instructional Media Center on the
first floor of Coleman Library, Gibbs Hall, McGuinn Hall, Palmetto South,
Wheatley Hall, and Paddyfoote. For information about refunds or bad copies
and/or print outs contact Auxiliary Services room G-20, Foote-Hilyer.

| Printing |
| Printers are available on the 1st floor (Instructional Media Center),
2nd floor, and 3rd floor. A Rattler Card is required for printing. Printing
is $ .10 per page. Value may be credited to your card with $1, $5, $10,
and $20 bills. Rattler Card money machines are located in the Instructional
Media Center on the first floor of Coleman Library, Gibbs Hall, McGuinn
Hall, Palmetto South, Wheatley Hall, and Paddyfoote.

| Typewriters |
There are 2 typewriters available for patron use. Typewriters are available on a first come, first served basis, in the following locations: Jazzman Cafe and Special Collections, Room 403.
|
| Users with Disabilities |
| Samuel H. Coleman Memorial Library is designed for easy access. Ramps
are located at the west and north entrances to the building. Patrons with
visual impairments or mobility problems may request assistance from the
service desks to retrieve materials from the shelves. A Aleph workstation
for use by the visually and physically disabled is available in room 207.
Telecommunications Device for the Deaf and Disabled (TDD) is available
at the reference desk on the second floor. Please see a library staff member
for more information or assistance.
