Dr. Myers is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work. She received her MSW and PhD in Social Work from the University of Georgia, and a BA in Religion and Philosophy from the University of Southern Mississippi. She has taught at University of Georgia and Thomas University in Thomasville, GA. Her research interests include adolescent health risk behaviors, eating disorders, and cultural and human diversity. Dr. Myers is an active participant in the LGBTQ Committee at Florida A&M University, and is a certified SafeZone trainer. She has published over 25 refereed journal articles and 20 book chapters, and has co-authored 5 social work textbooks, most recently a text entitled “Research Methods for Social Workers."
