BSW Program MissionThe mission of the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program in the Department of Social Work is to provide a beginning generalist curriculum reflecting the history, knowledge, values, ethics and skills of the profession. We seek to educate students who will:
- engage in the problem-solving process with individuals, groups and communities;
- promote social and economic justice for oppressed people; and
- demonstrate knowledge and sensitivity to human diversity.
Program graduates will be eligible for beginning social work practice and/or advanced standing upon entry into a graduate program of study.
