Student Health Services
Support Srvcs FAQ.pdf

What are student support services?

We often find that students have other needs in order to stay healthy and well. Student Health Services offers the following services to help them be successful while at FAMU

  •  Prescription Assistance:  We assist students in applying for prescription assistance programs to allow them to purchase prescriptions at a discounted price. We work with a pharmaceutical company and are often able to provide the Human Papillomavirus (HPV)‎ vaccine to male and female students aged 19 and older free of charge.
  • FarmShare: Through our partnership with the state Farmers Market in Quincy, FL we are able to provide students and staff with free produce and other food items. FarmShare is offered every week during the fall and spring semesters and every other week during the summer.
  • Clothing Closet: Students who need clothes may visit our clothing closet.
  • Food Pantry: We have an on-site food pantry stocked with non-perishable items that students may visit if they need food.

Who is eligible to visit the food pantry?

All students that are in need of food may visit the food pantry. We house non-perishable food items and also have personal hygiene kits that are available on a limited basis.
