The Department of Psychology offers work leading to the baccalaureate and master’s degrees in psychology with a Black psychology a multicultural emphasis. At the undergraduate level, the department offers the bachelor of arts degree and the bachelor of science degree. While both degrees provide the student with a broad liberal arts background, the bachelor of arts requires the fulfilling of foreign language requirements, i.e., French or Spanish, for twelve (12) semester hours. Both degrees enable students to pursue advanced degrees.
A MAJOR in psychology consists of a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours, inclusive of the following CORE courses: PSY 2012, PSY 3204, EXP 3704C, SOP 3782, CLP 4142, and PSY 4604,
A MINOR in psychology consists of a minimum of eighteen (18) semester hours, inclusive of PSY 2012 and SOP 3782.
