Coleman Library RenovationThe second floor of Coleman Memorial Library is getting a facelift! During the next few weeks you will see work in progress at the Main Library. Coleman Library enjoys one of the highest levels of occupancy of any building on the campus, which means that the facilities are especially subject to wear. In addition, teaching methodologies are changing which impacts the ways in which students need to learn and study. With this in mind, carpet will be replaced on the second floor, furnishings replaced and specified areas repurposed. The aim of the project is to enhance the aesthetics of the Library and to create a more collaborative, functional and effective learning/working environment for students, faculty and staff.
Coleman Library will remain open during the renovation and will continue to serve its patrons. During the renovations, the second floor will be temporarily closed. Floors 1, 3 and 4 will be accessible. Library services will be set up in alternative locations to maintain uninterrupted access. Twenty four hour virtual services from your location will not be interrupted; such as electronic journals, newspapers, books and other research materials. Please see http://www.famu.edu/oldsite/acad/coleman/index.html . Library branch services will be open and not impacted by the renovation project in Coleman Library.
Renovations will begin on Friday, April 27th and are expected to be completed near the beginning of the first summer session. Flyer
