The College of Agriculture and Food Sciences (CAFS) Living-Learning Community is for first year (freshman) students who have an interest in pursuing careers in Agribusiness, Agronomy, Biological & Agricultural Systems Engineering (BASE), Food Sciences, Entomology, and Animal Sciences. The CAFS LLC is designed to create an environment for freshmen that is supportive of academic excellence, delivers experiences that increases their appreciation for and knowledge about the Food and Agricultural Sciences careers, and provides opportunities for closer engagement with the college's faculty, staff, alumni, and industry partners. Students wanting to become a part of the CAFS Living and Learning Community need to have a minimum high school GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, and 500 on the SAT Math or 21 on the ACT Math. Qualified students must submit a one-page essay with the title "The Value of the Food and Agricultural Sciences to the State of Florida."
