Dear FAMUAN:

On behalf of the University and Housing staff, I welcome you to Florida A&M University,
home of the Rattlers.  We are very happy that you chose to continue your education at
Florida A&M University. This letter serves to inform you that as of August 14, 2018, all
on campus housing spaces have been filled.  Although the University requires
First Time In College (FTIC) students to reside in a University owned or leased
housing facility; we will grant an exception to the FTIC on campus residency
requirement for those that have not received a housing assignment prior to
August 14, 2018.

We truly regret our inability to provide on campus housing to all of
our students who wish to live on campus. We strongly encourage you to consider the
following housing alternatives as you plan your attendance for the 2018-2019
academic year.

You may request, in writing, that you be placed on the waiting list by sending an
email that includes your name, FAMU ID number and contact information to
famuhousing@famu.edu. Along with your request to be placed on
the waiting list, you must submit an on campus Housing application with the
advance payment.

http://www.famu.edu/index.cfm?housing&HousingApplication

Submit form by mail to:

Office of University Housing
1596 Gibbs Hall Trail
Tallahassee, FL 32307

Or deliver in person to the Housing Office, lower level Gibbs Hall.

Should vacancies occur, we will fill those vacancies with students on the waiting list
on a first come, first serve basis.  Please note that the waiting list does not
guarantee a room assignment.
If you are not placed in a University owned
facility by August 22, 2018, your university account will be credited.

You may research the local community rental properties via the Internet or personal
visit to acquire off campus housing for the 2018-2019 academic year. The University
has invited management teams from local rental properties to set up information tables
in the Grand Ballroom for the Off-Campus Housing Fair on August 23 – 24, 2018,
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. to assist students with their housing needs. We encourage you to be
mindful that off campus rental facilities will be on a first come, first serve basis as well.
Additionally, you should visit the off campus facilities and then make an informed decision
regarding the accessibility and safety of the facilities.
Florida A&M University and its University Board of Trustees do not assume any liability
regarding any off-campus facilities or with the agreements that you may enter with the
off-campus rental facilities.

Should you have any questions or comments, please contact our staff at
(850) 599-3651 or e-mail at famuhousing@famu.edu.

Sincerely,
