The National Name Exchange
In 2004, The School of Graduate Studies led the effort for FAMU to become a member of the National Name Exchange (NNE). The Exchange is a consortium of prestigious universities and colleges that collaborate to identify and recruit qualified minority candidates for summer research positions on their campuses, graduate study, improve student access to information on graduate education, and increase the number of minority students accepted into graduate school. Membership includes such institutions as Harvard, Duke, Rutgers, University of Washington, University of California at San Diego and Berkeley, Ohio State, Princeton and Cornell. FAMU Graduate Feeder Scholars already qualify for the Exchange, and twice a year, they are invited to register in it.
