The School of the Environmental Sciences (SOE) offers several innovative and exciting programs at Florida A&M University. The school is a multidisciplinary unit that offers a wide range of services to students, governmental agencies, private sector companies, communities and other organizations. Our value for diversity is reflected in the faculty, students and staff that comprise the SOE. Consistent with the mission of FAMU, the SOE has a commitment to the training of African Americans and others underrepresented in the sciences, and is the largest producer of Black doctorates in the environmental sciences. However, we are sensitive to and keenly aware that having individuals of all racial and ethnic groups provides for an enriched and valuable experience for all. The SOE is currently home to 10 faculty and 80 students in all degree programs for a high faculty student ratio, which allows students to receive individual attention.
