Fire Safety

The FAMU Fire Safety program provides assistance and guidance to faculty, staff, students, researchers and guests in university facilities on all fire safety matters. The office provides interpretations of fire safety regulations, assists with compliance and manages fire code corrective action for campus facilities.  The fire safety office also provides fire safety guidance for events, conducts fire drills, and facilitates fire safety awareness training, with special emphasis on fire safety in student residence facilities, places of assembly, and science laboratories.

The program is the liaison with the State Fire Marshal’s office and facilitates inspections of campus facilities and submits responses to fire safety inspection reports.
