About Environmental Health and Safety at FAMU

The Environmental Health and Safety department manages disaster preparedness, Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) compliance, Hazard Communication, Right-to-Know compliance, Building Code Administration, Fire Safety, the Respiratory Protection Program and FAMU's Recycling Initiative. EHS also handles Risk Management & Insurance and administers other employee related safety issues such as the monitoring and mitigation of buried and aboveground fuel tanks, in addition to asbestos, PCB, and other lead-based paint management.
