Clinical Shadowing
Shadowing is an important aspect in your preparation for professional schools. Students have the opportunity to observe physicians at work and to develop a more realistic understanding of the practice of medicine. It is encouraged that all students take advantage of physician shadowing and observe a variety of physicians in different specialties.

The University has a Premedical Shadow Program (PSP) through the University Student Health Services (SHS) which is a partnership with the William Gunn Medical Society and other participating physicians in the Tallahassee area. To set up your shadow appointment, please complete this application (PSP Application link) and submit it to FAMU Health Services. Applications are accepted year round. If accepted for hospital placement, the student is responsible for obtaining facility required background checks and drug screens. The College of Science Technology Premedical/Pre-health Program will assist when possible.

Summer Internships  - Summer internship opportunities will be posted and shared in the Dean's Office of the Unversity Commons as they come available.
