MSP TRACKS

01 Tracks



Track 1
Members of “Track-I” of the FAMU/FAU MSP have a provisional acceptance into FAU’s College of Medicine. This acceptance is provided with the stipulation that the student member successfully completes the FAMU/FAU MSP, scores well on the MCAT exam and satisfies the requirements of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC), and the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS). In addition to FAMU’s standard premedical training curriculum, members will also receive training in medical professionalism, clinical shadowing, summer research, MCAT preparation and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) which is intended to stimulate independent and self-di¬rected learning, as well as develop problem solving skills, team building, communications and leadership skills preparation.

Track 2
Members in “Track-II” of the FAMU MSP receive nearly identical/parallel training and exposure as members in Track-I. Members of Track-II of the MSP; in addition to FAMU’s standard premedical training curriculum, will also receive training in medical professionalism, clinical shadowing, summer research, MCAT preparation and Problem-Based Learning (PBL). Track-II members do not have a provisional acceptance into a medical program; instead, these members are free to apply to any top tier medical program in the United States upon completion of the MSP and graduating from FAMU.
