Goal of the FITC Alliance: To increase the number of highly qualified computer science and information technology graduates entering the workforce.

Introduction: The Florida IT Career Alliance was established to help recruit, retain and employ Florida’s next generation technology workforce. To achieve this goal, the Alliance will engage academic and industry partners that range from high schools, community colleges, state colleges, universities and private and public employers. These partnerships will enable academic and industry professionals to work together to attract outstanding technology professionals to Florida communities.

The FITC Alliance will rely heavily on the efforts of students to build a strong network that helps guide and strengthen their career preparation and encourages others to join the profession. Through the close cooperation of academic and industry professionals and organizations the FITC Alliance seeks to publicize the opportunities, create career pipelines, enable students to develop the skills needed in today’s technologically advanced world and explore the opportunities available to them within Florida. The FITC Alliance was launched in May 2014 with support provided from the Florida Board of Governors to Florida State University and Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University.
