ALUMNI & FRIENDS CORNER
As we celebrate the department's 40th year, take pride in knowing that you are part of a large and growing community. Computing as an academic discipline at FAMU began in 1967. Through the years, the discipline has evolved in terms of its name, the school in which it was housed, and the academic programs being offered. The program boasts over 1100 graduates since 1985! Plans are underway to celebrate this historic milestone through a year-long series of public events, coupled with a significant capital/scholarship drive. History shows that CIS has been, and continues to be, a flagship program of Florida A&M University.
Perhaps your memories include images of punch cards and long lines waiting for computer time. Or maybe you cherish the memories of participating in the protest by the data-processintg students. Regardless of when you graduated, you are forevermore a part of our family. As such, we encourage you to remain engaged and involved in the life of the department. Below are a few ways you can do so.
Make A Gift
The faculty and staff are proud of you and the accomplishments you are making through your personal and professional lives. As you have seen from the workplace, the nature of careers in computer and information systems/science is changing. We endeavor to provide current students with the best preparation for careers and advanced study.
