ALUMNI & FRIENDS CORNER
Welcome to the Florida A&M University Computer & Information Sciences Alumni & Friends Corner. This site is for you, about you, and by you!
As we celebrate the department's 40th year, take pride in knowing that you are part of a large and growing community. Computing as an academic discipline at FAMU began in 1967. Through the years, the discipline has evolved in terms of its name, the school in which it was housed, and the academic programs being offered. The program boasts over 1100 graduates since 1985! Plans are underway to celebrate this historic milestone through a year-long series of public events, coupled with a significant capital/scholarship drive. History shows that CIS has been, and continues to be, a flagship program of Florida A&M University.
Perhaps your memories include images of punch cards and long lines waiting for computer time. Or maybe you cherish the memories of participating in the protest by the data-processintg students. Regardless of when you graduated, you are forevermore a part of our family. As such, we encourage you to remain engaged and involved in the life of the department. Below are a few ways you can do so.
Whether you graduated last year or 30 years ago, we have many opportunities for involvement. Alumni have an important role to play in ensuring that our program remains vital and relevant, and that current students have access to alumni who can serve as professional mentors. Please consider becoming an e-mentor to our current students. You may choose to speak to a class about your experiences, serve as a co-host in your town for a college recruiting event, provide interesting ideas to enhance our programs, or become a member of our Advisory Board. Let us know if you want to get more actively involved in the life of the department and we will help you find the perfect opportunity.
Don't be a stranger! Stop by and visit with us when you are in the town or on campus. We'd love to talk with you.

The faculty and staff are proud of you and the accomplishments you are making through your personal and professional lives.
