Requirements for Admission (Computer Science):
Students wishing to major in Computer Science are admitted as pre-majors. Admission to the major is contingent upon meeting the following requirements:
- Complete COT3100, MAC2311, COP3014C and COP3330

- Earn overall 2.5 GPA in the above courses
|
- No more than two (2) repeats (total) of the above courses
|
- Meet the above requirements within four (4) terms.
|
Students failing to meet all requirements for a pre-major are not retained, and will not be admitted to that major. Students may transfer to another major.
Requirements for Admission (Information Systems):
Students wishing to major in Information Systems are admitted as pre-majors. Admission to the major is contingent upon meeting the following requirements:
- Complete CIS 1920, COT 2104, COP 3828 and COP COP 3014C

- Earn overall 2.5 GPA in the COT 2104, COP 3828 and COP 3014C
|
- No more than two (2) repeats (total) of the above courses
|
- Meet the above requirements within three (3) terms.

Students failing to meet all requirements for a pre-major are not retained, and will not be admitted to that major. Students may transfer to another major.
Requirements for Changing to a CIS Major:
- A student must have at least a 2.5 GPA to change the major to Computer Science.

- A student must have at least a 2.0 GPA to change the major to Information Systems or Information Technology.

It is the student's responsibility to be aware of the prerequisities of a CIS course prior to enrollment in that course. A student may contact his or her advisor or the department chair for additional information concerning course prerequisites and this policy. Failure to fulfill course prerequisites may result in the administrative cancellation of enrollment in the course at any time during the semester with no refund of tuition or fees.
