FAMU Career and Professional Development Center supports the principles published by NACE in regards to job offer policies. We expect for employers to allow students sufficient and reasonable time frames to carefully consider employment options. To ensure that students are provided equitable time to consider offers employers that recruit at FAMU and with the Career and Professional Development Center are expected to adhere to the following dates for offers. These dates allow for students to make careful and informed decisions in regards to full-time job and internship offers that are based on fit and not pressure.
 

Internship Offer

Offer Cannot Expire Before

July 31, 2019 – October 21, 2019

December 6, 2019

After October 21, 2019

Two weeks after the formal offer

Upon completion of a summer 2019 internship with organization (return for 2020 internship)

December 6, 2019, or two weeks from the formal offer, whichever is later

January 1, 2020-March 2, 2020

April 6, 2020, or two weeks from the formal offer, whichever is later

After March 2, 2020

Two weeks after the formal offer



Full-Time Offer

Offer Cannot Expire Before

Upon completion of a summer 2019 internship with the organization (2020 full-time job offer)

December 6, 2019, or two weeks from the formal offer, whichever is later

Before October 21, 2019 (summer/fall 2019 interviews, no summer internship with organization making the offer)

December 6, 2019, or two weeks from the formal offer, whichever is later

After October 21, 2019

Two weeks from the formal offer

January 1, 2020-March 2, 2020

April 6, 2020, or two weeks from the formal offer, whichever is later

After March 2, 2020

Two weeks after the formal offer
